A Single Man

This is an abandoned concept sketch for the film that shares the same title as the book, "A Single Man" written by British novelist Christopher Isherwood and published in 1964. The story follows a day in the life of George, an English gentleman teaching literature in California grappling with life after the sudden death of his lover. In the film there is a moment in which George sets out his personal belongings on his bed and contemplates suicide. The film was made by Tom Ford, staring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, and Matthew Goode. I thought the original posters where misleading. It looked more like a romantic comedy, or that it was about some guy and his relationship with Julianne Moore. My rendition feels more honest to the story in my opinion.
