A friend of mine asked me if I'd be interested in using his car while he's away on business for a few months. "I would rather have some one use it then have it just sit in the garage." So here it is a 1956 MGA coupe!!! All period correct parts and in near show room condition. Under the bonnet is a stock 4 cylinder 1400cc engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. Not a hint of rust anywhere. Pull button starter on the dash, along with all it's original Smiths gages and leathers in the cock pit. It shifts through all gears smooth and the exhaust notes sound wonderfully British. Apprehensive at first with the prospect of modern day traffic and open high ways, this car will hold it's own, running along fine at a brisk 60 MPH. It's a small light car and it will swagger a bit in high cross winds but that's OK considering I've got about 3 feet on both sides in one lane. It does get loud in the cock pit as there are no windows, even with the rag top up. Most old MG's and Triumphs come with those plastic windows that get all yellow and sticky and useless. Not this one. Any way I just love this car and I'm so happy that I'll be using it in the weeks to come.
