DUMBO 1941

"I saw a chance to do a character with out doing any cheap theatrics. Most of the expressions and mannerisms I got from my own kid. There's nothing theatrical about a two year old kid. They're real and sincere...I tried to put all these things in Dumbo.
-Bill Tytla

Why can't we get back to this? Have we tossed it all out the window for the sake of sensationalism?

Dumbo would have been better if he was a little hipper and made witty sarcastic comments throughout the whole picture. (much like this one). They should have also thrown in some parodies of movies from back then that noone will get in a year or two. Yes sir, we are living in the real Golden age of animated cinema......... (not quite).

Dumbo is a perfect movie and it will never be like that again thanks to the consumer. The animation world creates products to push products, not for the sake of the arts.

Couldn't agree more, it's a shame we rarely get quality animated films like Dumbo anymore (Dumbo is my personal favorite Disney movie). Thanks for stopping by my blog as well and for the nice comments, you are too kind!

It's just one of those things you know.

Vincent:
Well it's not exactly like that.

Jacks:
Thanks for stopping by.

David DeGrand:
No problem.

Aha! perhaps it was this post that jogged a sweet childhood memory of my neighbor Bianca Majorie who developed "Elmer the Elephant" who ultimately became Dumbo. More info can be found on my latest post!
Thanks for that Mr. R Dress!
