very cute drawings! I like the one on the swing and the bathing suit one.

I checked out the invisible ink blog. Some great stuff!! thanks. Looks like I won't get any work done today.

Man - thank you for posting these!
It's really great to see how you work. Do you do all of them rough - and then put a piece of paper over them and do a second or third pass?
My favorites are the girl with the frilly swimsuit - and the two girls on the first page.

Blair-
Thanks again. Will you be posting any of your animation or are you just doing comics? What is the deal these days?

Adam-
Depends. I never draw the same way all the time. For the girls up top, I just roughed them in and cleaned them up with another sheet of paper. The Ink sketches of the swimmers where roughed in then I just went over them with a marker. The only guy I know who can dive right in to a loose solid drawing with a 3B is Dan Haskett.

Danny-
Good to hear from you.

I'll post some animation soon. I don't have a current demo reel, and finding an evening to edit stuff is hard. Maybe next week, I'll try to post some.

Do you know Dan Haskett?

Blair:

I first met Dan at SVA my sophomore year. He came in to give a lecture on character design etc. He brought with him two phone book stacks of designs from various jobs and personal work he did over the years. Plus his Demo Reel which included Fox and the Hound.

I said, "Where the hell did you guys find all this Haskett stuff?" He looked up at me with a grin and said, "I'm Dan Haskett."

Later I worked with him at MTV on a piece of shit show called SPY GROOVE. After hours, I would check his waste bin for drawings but found nothing. The guy just came in, real quite and did his thing. He drew with led pencils, real tight and clean. I have some in my Archives.

We begged him to bring in his demo reel. After he did, we begged him to keep it at the studio for us to watch, and watch, and watch, and watch we did. Almost every day. On it was a test he did for the folks at Dream Works; Miriam when she meets Moses by the well for the first time. Amazing!!!

Any how, I get all fired up when I talk about Dan Haskett. He does not know me really well, and most likely does not know my name, but if I ran into him, he would recognize me. Last I heard he was doing some animation for Curious George.

Dan is good friends with Chuck Gammage, who I know very well, and does alot of designs for Chuck's studio. Dan visited the studio for a few days, so I got to meet him and his wife, and see him draw. There is only a handful of guys who can draw like him. Chuck asked me to pick Dan and his wife up from the airport, and I picked him up in my shity old truck that was falling apart. The seat belts barely worked. I wonder what he thought. He was super nice to boot.
